It's Monday and we are back from soccer camp!

Hey guys and gals! How was your week??

David was at soccer camp this week and I think he had fun. I also think he is glad to be done with it! Our family had a bit of fun after everyone left and held an impromptu family soccer match. The hubby is on vacation this week so we will be celebrating our anniversary before heading off for my cousin's wedding this weekend.

David is the one sitting on the field. I think he was done for the day!

I'm really happy I finished three books this week. I really need to read quickly because I have a giant stack of library books and ARCs and they are all giving me the evil eye...

    1. I loved it. I avoided reading it for a while because I tend to read a ton of WWII books. I'm so glad I picked it up though. It was a very beautifully written story.

  4. I am actually interested in all your books! Some on my wishlist, some going on now. What do you think of Lev Grossman's series? Is it similar to any other that you can think of? I am wondering whether I would like to start it.

    1. I am enjoying it. I think it really appeals to people who grew up with the Narnia books or Harry Potter, because it pays homage to both of them. Grossman does some really amazing world building and it's definitely a darker look at magic and life. You can always try the first one and see what you think!

  5. These books look great. The picture of David sitting in the middle of the soccer field makes me smile. I respect the fact that he knows when he needs a break. :-)

    1. Haha! I'm not so sure the coaches appreciated it, but he seemed to know that he was done with soccer for that day!

  6. I'm on hold for Landline. The anticipation, like with We Were Liars, is driving me crazy.

    1. I'm excited! I liked Eleanor and Park but I think I liked Attachments even more because the characters were closer to my age and situation. I'm so interested to see what Rowell will do with this story!

I hope your copy comes in soon! :)

    1. Thanks!

People seem to be enjoying Landline, so I'm excited to get to it too! Which of Rowell's other books is your favorite so far?

  8. Landline is on my list of books I want to read. I loved Rowell's two earlier books. Soccer camp looks like so much fun. I loved watching my daughter play at that age. Now that she's on the high school team, I have to close my eyes when they collide at full speed.

    1. The little kids are so funny when they play! Mostly you have to separate them from the giant blob that runs up and down the field... :)

  9. All the Light We Cannot See has gotten such great reviews... really want to read that one! I'm in the middle of The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry right now and it's very good.

    1. It's a lot of fun. I felt a bit like some of the minor characters were shoehorned in just to make an appearance, but it felt like authentic Veronica Mars to me. :)
