It's Monday and we have had a busy, happy house!

Hello fellow book lovers! How are you?

It's been a busy week around here. We finally got David's teacher and bus assignments, so it is full steam ahead to get ready for first grade. This weekend was pretty wonderful because my in-laws came to visit for a day and my best friend was here for a few days as well. Reading-wise I wasn't able to finish a second book this week but I figure it will all balance out in the end. Well, at least it will if the librarians don't coming looking for me anytime soon....

Must finish Tigerman and take it back to the library. Must finish Tigerman and take it back to the library.

  1. Two of your books say 'a novel' on the cover...do you think that says something about the type of book?

    1. Well, with the first one, maybe they want to differentiate between fiction and a non-fiction guide to friendship? I see it on a lot of books lately.

  4. Better to have a busy happy house for a few days, and put the books aside. I have Someone Else's Love Story on my kindle so I should get to it sometime soon. You must be excited for David to start school again!

    1. So true. I love my reading but family time is irreplaceable!

I am excited for David to start school again but I think he is a bit nervous. Hopefully it will start smoothly and stay that way!

  5. Wow, 1st grade - that seems like a very long time ago! My oldest moved back to college for his Junior year this week and my youngest starts his Junior year of HS on Wed. So, very busy getting ready here, too.

Enjoy your books this week -

  6. I know how that goes with library books. I have to plan out how many books to read each week in order to return them on time. It doesn't always work out, especially when fun stuff intervenes! :)

    1. Libraries are so wonderful but it's so easy to request too many books!

  7. Great review of All the Light We Cannot See! I've been hesitating on that one, but I imagine I will read it at some point . . . I do read a LOT of WWII fiction, as well. I'm working on The Undertaking now.

    1. There are so many interesting facets of that time period, but I could probably branch out to some other time periods too!

  8. Nice line up of books ... I've got a couple of Joshilyn Jackson books on my bookshelves, (unread) not sure why I can't find the time for them ... more hours in the day might help lol. Have a great week and happy reading :)

    1. Haha. I figured if I wrote it down a few times, maybe I would actually do it. My lovely husband took it by the book drop last night, so I probably only owe the library half my fortune now instead of the whole thing! :)

    1. I think I'm ready. Summer always feels too short but some days, you can't wait for school to start and to resume some sort of routine!

    1. It was one of my favorite years of elementary school, so I hope David has a similar experience. :)

  12. How exciting! We're looking forward to first grade in my household too. My girls got their room and bus assignments on Saturday and haven't stopped talking about it since then. School starts on the 2nd.

I hope you'll find time to fit in your reading, but I'm glad to hear that it's been happy events getting "in the way." :)
