Hello bookish friends! Everyone hanging in there?
It's been the usual amount of crazy around here, but husband and I did manage to get a kids-free dinner thanks to a Parents Night Out at our church. I have been confused about what day it is since Thursday, when D had a snow day.
This week, I read (and really liked) Hag-Seed by Margaret Atwood. Then I read Kate Atkinson's Behind the Scenes at the Museum. It was interesting to me because you can see so much of the groundwork for Life After Life. I also finished reading Faithfully Feminist. I've been reading a couple of essays each day for a few weeks.
Now I'm reading Do Not Say We Have Nothing. Have any of you read it?
What are you reading this week?
Nice to have a night out! I do that often stay with the grandkids so my kids can get away together.ReplyDelete
I've had a week of not knowing what day it was either - really throws you! Sounds like you had a great reading week; I hope that continues into this week.ReplyDelete
Both of these look really good. I've added them to my list. Happy reading!ReplyDelete
Looks like you had a good reading week. Yeah those snow days can throw you all outta wack. Have a nice week!ReplyDelete
I'm not generally a fan of retellings, so didn't jump on Hagseed, but I am a huge Atwood fan, so should possibly reconsider that!ReplyDelete
I just started Hag-Seed yesterday. I'm only about 80 pages in. I'm interested to see how his revenge will play out. And I think I have to brush up on The Tempest.ReplyDelete

I've bee eyeing Faithfully Feminist. I enjoyed Kate Atkinson's books until Life After Life. I didn't like that one, for some reason.ReplyDelete
I feel the same about Atwood's MaddAddam books...so I'm probably not going to read Hag-Seed.
Thanks for sharing...and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Glad you had a dinner alone with your husband! I haven't read any of your books, though The Handmaid's Tale by Atwood was one of my favorites of my teens/20s. Maybe I'll pick that one up.ReplyDelete
I don't know if little kids still make valentines cards for their school friends, or buy store-bought ones (I remember for myself and my kids that the schools allowed card-giving if you gave one to everybody so no one was left out).
I really enjoyed Hagseed and love Kate Atkinson - Life After Life is one of my favourite books. Have a good week.ReplyDelete
My days are all out of wack too with the snow days. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Hagseed. I'm going to grab it on audio when my turn comes around.ReplyDelete
I have yet to read anything by Margaret Atwood, but I'll be listening to A Handmaid's Tale later this month. It's been on my TBR for too long! I'll have to add Hag Seed to my list.ReplyDelete
