It's Monday and we survived the first week of school!

This was not a good week for the blogging. Sigh. I posted only one review this week. I have lots of books read, but the writing of reviews just didn't seem to happen this week. Oh well. It's a new week and I already have a few reviews scheduled.

This was our first week with David going to kindergarten. I am happy to report that everyone made it through. I may have cried a bit at the bus stop the first day, but I managed to keep it together until the bus was actually out of sight. He's been having fun and making lots of new friends. I'm excited to see what this school year will bring.

At least he's happy to see us at the end of the day!
Walking to the bus stop....

On a professional note, I have some openings for editing work. If any of you lovely writers are looking for someone to edit your work, shoot me an email.

  1. Thanksgiving sounds like a very interesting novel - spanning so many years. I think I'm going to try to grab a copy. :) (Like I don't have enough books sitting around here!, lol)

    Have a great week

    1. I also meant to say something about your boy and Kindergarten, but I push the publish button way too quick.

It's always bittersweet when your kid starts school. You're proud of them and at the same time you miss them, miss that preschool and babyness of them. They grow so fast. It's good that he's enjoying school so far. Enjoy this year - Kindergarten can be a very special year for new students. :)

I'll be looking forward to hearing what you think about Night Film. I haven't read it but I keep hearing good things.

    1. Let's not jump ahead to the grumpy teenage years yet, ok?? :)

Night Film was really creepy. I made myself only read it during the day because I get scared very easily!

Looking forward to reading your thoughts on Marisha Pessl's book. I just started reading Tabitha Suzuma's 'Hurt' this week.

    1. We are starting to get the routine down. It's a big change, but I'm excited to see what he accomplishes this year.

I should be posting about Night Film in a week or two. Did you read her debut novel?

      Happy reading to you too!

  7. As a teacher, I know how crazy that first week of school is. Since I don't have any kids of my own, though, I don't know what it's like to watch them go to school for the first time. Congratulations on you and David making it through!

Thanksgiving sounds like a really interesting book. Have a good week!

  10. Congratulations on making it through the first day of school! It's got to be hard for moms.

I didn't love The History of Love, and as you said in your review, I quickly forgot about it. I hope this week's books are better!
