Hi again! It's been one of those weeks with lots of running around (the usual chaos when you have two kids and a few jobs to juggle). We did enjoy a very leisurely Sunday afternoon, which felt very needed. Sundays are at least partly work days for the husband and me, so it was nice to get in a nap this afternoon and just spend time reading, watching some tv, and planning for the upcoming week.
This week, I finished Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith. Then I read The Bedlam Stacks, which comes out this August, and sped through All Grown Up by Jami Attenberg.
Next up? I will be trying to fill the Phryne Fisher sized hole in my heart by reading the books, specifically Murder in the Dark, since I finished watching the tv series. I'm also looking forward to starting Lab Girl as my next audiobook.
What are you reading right now?
I was surprised to find that I really loved Lab Girl. I'm not one for science, but it's a great story.

It's so well-done. I'm only a few chapters in but I already want to recommend it to a bunch of people!
DeleteI have All Grown Up...and now I want to read it sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteLab Girl looks tempting. Thanks for sharing, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
All Grown Up is nice and short, so you can zip through it in a weekend!
DeleteI've heard a ton of positive things about Lab Girl. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good! I certainly understand why everyone has been talking about it.
DeleteI have a feeling that my next three weeks will consist of way more running around (and way too little reading). Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI bet! You are going to have a lot going on with the end of the school year and getting ready to move!
DeleteI'm wondering about Lab Girl. Hope it's a good one. Have a more relaxing week ahead and enjoy sneaking in some reading!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful so far! Thank you; I hope you find lots of reading time too!
DeleteDid you know that they're working a Phryne Fisher film? I don't know if it will get shown in the States, but I hope so. If you like those period piece mystery shows: two others I like are Murdoch Mysteries (Canadian, 1900s) and the Doctor Blake Mysteries (Victoria, Australia, 1950s)
ReplyDeleteMy husband is home. My daughter had two pieces in her school's art show. And we got new cement poured at the bottom of our stoop. Come see what I'm reading.
I did know that! I'm very excited to see it whenever it comes out. Thanks for the other recommendations--I will have to look them up!
DeleteOh! So glad you are reading Lab Girl! It was SOOO good. One of the highest ratings my book group has ever given a book - and no rating below a 7 (which is rare for us all to be in agreement!)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it and your other books, too -
Sue
Book By Book
It is very good! It's one of those books where the hype seems strange until you read it...then it all makes sense!
DeleteBoth books new to me. Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Mystica!
DeleteI'm so excited you're picking up lab girl! I loved it and I'd love to see more good representations of scientists in books in general :)
