It's Monday and sometimes, reading doesn't go the way you expect...

My friends, I fear I have committed the cardinal sin of book reviewers. I was all ready to read the next awesome book from Netgalley...and then I realized that it had been archived. So I didn't get the chance to read The Opposite of Loneliness, although I really wanted to. I ended up reading something off my shelf and then I read the next book on Netgalley, because a girl does not want that to happen more than once!

  1. The dreaded "archived", it has happened to me too. I want to read Attachments too. Have a great week.

    1. It's such a bummer. I have to learn to keep better track of dates!

  2. The Here and Now and Attachments both sound good. I'm debating which Rainbow Rowell book to read next...

    1. I've only read Eleanor and Park so it's nice to have more than one to choose from. Which one(s) have you read already??

  3. I've heard some mixed reviews of The Here and Now so far - I look forward to your thoughts on that one.
    Happy Reading!

    1. It was ok - not amazing but not terrible. I think it's always going to be hard for readers of a certain generation to separate Brashares from the Traveling Pants books.

  4. I read The Here and Now but didn't review it, so I look forward to your thoughts on that one. This week I'm starting Laura McBride's debut book, We Are Called to Rise and hoping to finish Koch's Summer House With Swimming Pool (he's the guy who wrote The Dinner).

    1. I love reading debuts. There is just so much possibility for the books and for the authors! I hope you enjoy We Are Called to Rise.

  5. Sometimes life just happens and we just must go on. All your titles are new to me, except Attachments. Have a great week.

    1. Very true!

Attachments is a very popular read. I think I'm a little late to the party on that one. :)

  6. Too bad about your Netgalley book. I have had that happen to me, and also I have returned a bunch I chose unwisely and didn't finish, so I am not allowed auto-approved ones yet. Oh well, it happens. You have an eclectic batch this week-- I am interested in Attachments myself. Have a good week!

    1. You can only do what you can do, right?? Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one!

  7. Don't worry too much about it, my Netgalley ratios are awful!

  8. I hadn't heard that Ann Brashares had another book out. It looks rather different from her other book, to say the least, but hopefully still worth checking out. I've been wanting to try some other Rainbow Rowell novels since I read Fangirl. I'm looking forward to seeing your opinion of Attachments.

    1. Yes, it's very different from the Traveling Pants series.

I haven't read Fangirl yet but I plan to!

  9. Oh gosh. Yeah, I can't go on NetGalley. I'd request everything and read nothing. Haha.

    Here and Now sounds good!
