It's Monday...Watcha reading?

Hey everyone. How are you? Life is a little crazy around our house lately. We are moving in a few weeks, and that tends to make things a little more interesting. Somehow, I am rather ahead in reading...but way behind in reviews. I must get on that, somewhere amid the packing and working and chasing after a certain four year old. Wish me luck!

Read This Week:

By Marilynne Robinson

The Watery Part of the World
Reading Now:
By Donna Tartt

Up Next:
Bloom: Finding Beauty in the Unexpected--A Memoir

    1. I really enjoyed it. It was the first novel I have read by Robinson, but I don't think it will be the last!

    1. I think it will be. I've followed the author's blog for some time now. She has such great perspective on life.

  3. Oh, I just can't get around to reviews anymore! I just give mini reviews on my Monday post so readers know if it's a good book or not. :)

    1. That sounds like a good idea. I think I make my process too drawn out. I need to just write them and schedule them, instead of going back to them several times.

    1. It's so beautiful. It really ties in with the story too. I hate when the cover has nothing to do with the events of the book!

  7. I am ahead in reading but behind in reviewing too. For some reason I'm getting through books really quickly at the moment.
Good luck getting ready for the move!

    1. Gilead sounds really good! Gilead and Housekeeping seem to be juxtaposed - Gilead is about fathers and sons and Housekeeping is about the relationships between sisters and mothers and daughters.

  12. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I haven't read any of those books so I have nothing constructive to say but the covers sure do look gorgeous! Hope you have a happy week of reading ahead of you!

  13. I'm interested to hear what you thought of Housekeeping - most of my book group didn't really love it - I think I remember it was pretty depressing.

I have heard so many great things about The Secret History - I need to get to that one of these days.

I just read a review of Bloom this morning - it sounds really good - I love memoirs.

Enjoy your books this week -

    2. Yay! I'm so glad you will be sticking around. :)

I enjoyed Housekeeping, but I think you need to be in a certain state of mind. It's quiet and lovely, not a book that you can speed through.
