I think the best word to sum up how I'm feeling right now is weary. It's been one of those weeks where you just feel in constant motion. When you add that to everything that has been going on in the news this week, I feel like pulling the family in close and making this Monday slow and quiet (as much as is possible with two kids, anyhow).
Read This Week:

A Guide To Being Born
By Ramona Ausubel

The Other Typist
By Suzanne Rindell
Posts from this Past Week:
It's Monday
Reviews of Loving The Little Years: Motherhood in the Trenches and The New York Trilogy
Reading Now:

Started Early, Took My Dog (Jackson Brodie #4)
By Kate Atkinson
Up Next:

Eleanor and Park
By Rainbow Rowell
What are you reading this week?
I'm working on Rivers which is grey, wet and depressing
ReplyDeleteI bet you will be looking for a light and easy read after that one!
DeleteI've got the newest Kate Atkinson awaiting me. I seem to have missed that one!
ReplyDeleteHere's my It's Monday. Love to have you stop by!
Life After Life? I loved that one!
DeleteStarted Early, Took My Dog is the fourth (and last?) Jackson Brodie book. I think it was published in 2010 or 2011.
Started Early, Took My Dog looks very intriguing. I like the title and cover. Enjoy your reads!
ReplyDeleteTake a look at what I'm reading this week!
If you are interested, you could start with that book or you could pick up the first in the series - Case Histories. I think you could go either way. You wouldn't be confused if you just read Started Early, Took My Dog.
DeleteEleanor & Park! Eleanor & Park! Hooray :) I hope you fall in love with it!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear what you think about A Guide to Being Born, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of that one of these days.
I'm very excited to read it. Everyone seems to adore it. :)
DeleteA Guide to Being Born was quite good. There is one story in particular that I can't get out of my head a week later.
Nice assortment of books. I have been seeing The Other Typist on lots of blogs lately. Come see what I read last week at Inside of a Dog. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy! The Other Typist is quite popular right now.
DeleteLooks like you have a great week planned. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you have a great week too.
DeleteOoh Eleanor and Park! I'm still on hold!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you do get your quiet Monday and have a good week ahead.
Holds are so funny. I feel like sometimes they take forever and sometimes I wish they would go a bit slower because I suddenly have five books at once!
DeleteI've got a review book and a re-read lined up for me this week. Hopefully they will prove to be good 'uns.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your review of The Other Typist, as well as your thoughts on Eleanor and Park when you read that one.
Here's to a good week :-)
My Book Bubble
That sounds like a great combination! I liked The Other Typist, but I didn't love it. Are you planning to read it?
DeleteI hope you'll enjoy Eleanor & Park, I read it a while ago 7 I loved it :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
That's what everyone is saying! I have high hopes for it. :)
DeleteEnjoy your books this week. I finished What the Spell? by Brittany Geragotelis (4/5 stars) last week. This week I'm reading Solaris by Stanislaw Lem, Fields of Elysium by A.B. Whelan, and OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rose! I hope you love all of your reads this week. :)
DeleteI have heard good things about Started Early, Took My Dog. I do enjoy mysteries and suspense, so might be good for me. Enjoy your week reading!
ReplyDeleteThe Jackson Brodie books are a great combo of mystery and literary fiction. I hope you give them a try!
DeleteI LOVED The Other Typist. Still am confused about the ending, though, and the characters. :)

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
I understand what you mean about the ending. I felt like I could have gone back and re-read for some clarification, but it was due back at the library and honestly I didn't love it enough for a re-read.
DeleteHope you're enjoying Kate Atkinson. I love her writing. I look forward to your review of The Other Typist, I'm on the fence about whether to read that one.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the Kate Atkinson, although I think the previous book was my favorite of the series.
DeleteI was sort of meh about The Other Typist, but it might be because I've read several books in the past year or so with similar plots.
