What are you reading this week?
I read Songs for the Missing--it is a moody story, but I love Stewart O'Nan's books. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI just happened to spot it when looking for an audiobook for a trip. I loved Wish You Were Here and knew it would be a great choice! Stewart O'Nan is a fantastic writer.
DeleteYou had a great week. Spell It Out sounds intriguing. I'll have to add it to my wishlist. Come see what I did last week here. Happy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. I am definitely an English/linguistics nerd, so Spell It Out is right up my alley. :) I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteBook Riot made a really great sell with Lexicon! So many bloggers have read it ever since Rebecca compared to it "x-men with words!" I have it downloaded but haven't read it yet!
ReplyDeleteI also head wonderful things about Eleanor and Park. I'm not much for YA but this book may be genre-bending.
Haven't read Stewart O'Nan before but I've heard the name. Would totally dip into his books. Do you recommend starting with Wish You Were Here?
Lexicon was great. I flew through it in one day. Eleanor and Park was good too.
DeleteThis was only my second Stewart O'Nan book. You could start with either book. Songs for the Missing is a standalone. Wish You Were Here has a sequel of sorts - Emily, Alone. I would really recommend his books though!
Whoo hoo! You're definitely back in the groove! Hooray :) I hope this coming week is just as good!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer. I hope so too!
DeleteSpell it Out sounds interesting. I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brittany. It's really fascinating so far!
DeleteIt is always nice to find back your reading groove! The Dark Road looks very good. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice feeling! I'm looking forward to The Dark Road even though I know it's going to be one of those tough reads.
DeleteI go through waves of that too, in a groove then out. :) Glad you are in a reading rhythm right now. Songs for the Missing sounds intense but good. I will have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThanks - it feels like a good place to be! Songs for the Missing was intense, but it's great. The audiobook is a great way to experience it if you like to listen to a story.

ReplyDeleteLexicon looks intriguing, love the premise. I was not aware of it so thanks for showcasing it. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it. It's been a while since I've read one of those can't-put-it-down sort of books.
DeleteI have as yet to read Kate Atkinson but I must some time, have heard good things about her books.
ReplyDeleteShe's a great writer!
DeleteShe has the Jackson Brodie series and the first book in that series is Case Histories. She also wrote Behind the Scenes at the Museum and her newest book is Life After Life.
Oh, how did you like Lexicon? I have it to read soon.
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
DeleteHello there Lindsey, I've read so many good things about Eleanor and Park. Glad to hear that you got your reading groove back! Sometimes all it takes is a great book (or great ones in your case). :) I've been doing a lot of reading too as I am currently on vacation - more time for leisurely reading! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so much nicer to be reading when you love the books you have! :)
DeleteThe Kate Atkinson book looks good.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week and your books.

Silver's Reviews
My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
Thanks Elizabeth. Have you read any of the books in that series?
DeleteI have to say I'm pretty impressed with that list haha. I, on the other hand, have dropped off the face of the earth for the past week and have been reading fanfiction instead of books. I've decided I have to blog about SOMETHING so I'll probably be putting up a post about fanfiction hahaha
ReplyDeleteYou're still reading though! Write about the fanfiction! :)
DeleteSpell It Out sounds interesting. I haven't been able to stop talking about E&P! At least, now, it's I read it and I enjoyed it and not I want to read it! Have a great reading week!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to be on the other side of things, isn't it? Now we can be the ones to say, "Oh, you have to read it. It's great!"
DeleteOh, my gosh! Every single book you read seems like a winner! I'm off to skim through (I haven't read it yet, so ... [although it HAS been sitting on my TBR shelf for quite some time - maybe I need to fix that]) your review of Henrietta Lacks. Have a wonderful reading week!
ReplyDeleteI have had a string of good books!
DeletePush Henrietta up to the top of your pile! It's a great read. :)
