This was a crazy busy week! There was Halloween of course - I helped out with the party in David's class and we went trick or treating. We also had a friend's birthday party, a church potluck, and all of the other stuff that comprises a week!
And because I like you all so much, here are some cutie Halloween pictures. I give you Minnie Mouse and Optimus Prime, respectively.
Now, about those books...
Read This Week:
The Mad Scientist's Daughter

What are you reading this week?
How are you liking Bellman & Black? I have it from Netgalley but I much prefer print books and was thinking of just buying it (the cover it has here is really lovely too, different from this one).
ReplyDeleteI liked it, but I think they made a mistake calling it a ghost story. Diane Setterfield is a great writer, though.
DeleteAww the kids look cute!!
ReplyDeleteCurious to hear what you thought of The Mad Scientist's Daughter and Bellman and Black as I still have to read both of them
Thank you! They had a lot of fun.
DeleteThe Mad Scientist's Daughter was a great read and Bellman and Black was good as well, although it's best if you don't treat it as a spooky story.
I've been holding on to Bellman and Black because the reviews have been so mixed, I'm curious what you'll think. Love the Halloween pictures! Hope you have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteI think the problem was the ghost story subtitle. It gives a lot of expectations that just aren't fulfilled.
DeleteI hope you have a great week too!
I really think I must check out Bellman and Black. Those are adorable costumes on the babies! I especially love the creativity of the Minnie Mouse hat. When my kids were little instead of that nice hat, it would have been some awkward headband ears that would have needed to be attached to their heads somehow!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! The Minnie mouse costume was a gift from friends. The hat is so easy and then you know their ears are warm too!
DeleteHalloween is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Its Monday!
It is a lot of fun! We are getting to the point where David knows exactly what he wants to dress up as and he does not want our input at all!
DeleteNice pictures, Lindsey. I just saw Wally Lamb on someone else's reading list and now I am seeing it in yours. Will look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI have really enjoyed all of Lamb's previous novels, so I'm excited to see what he's done with this one. Happy reading to you too!
Super adorable Halloween pictures! Great kiddos :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading this week :) The Brunette Librarian's Blog
Thanks so much. I hope you have some great books this week!
DeleteOh my goodness--The Mad Scientist's Daughter and Bellman and Black sound sooo good! I can't wait to read your thoughts on them!
ReplyDeleteI'm always glad to add to your TBR list. :)
DeleteAw, I love the Minnie Mouse costume, so cute!
ReplyDeleteHow is Bellman and Black? I've seen some mixed reviews.
Thanks Sam!
DeleteIt was good, but I think it's tough to match the success she had with her debut novel.
ha ha - love the little Minnie in a onesie - adorable!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read Wally Lamb's latest. Lucky you!
Enjoy your books this week -
Sue
Book By Book
Book by Book is now on Facebook!
Thanks Sue. I think I will try to get her to wear it a few more times before it's too small. :)
DeleteI love Wally Lamb, so I jumped on the library request early and my library bought several copies. I'm psyched to read it.
Will be interested to see what you think about We Are Water - I was not a fan :(
ReplyDeleteOh no! What didn't you like about it??
DeleteAdorable in their costumes! I've read conflicting reviews about We Are Water, but I will be reading it because I love Wally Lamb.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love Wally Lamb too. I feel like I've been waiting a million years for a new book!
