Oh. Wow. So January is over? Ok.
We started the month (and the new year) off with a bang by driving down to Florida to engage in the craziness and magic that is Disney World. Then it was back home to ease David back into his school routine, unpack and do a mountain of laundry, and hunker down for a blizzard that never showed up.
Books reviewed in January: 9
Pages read: 2,771
Male authors/female authors/multiple authors: 3/5/1
My books/library books/books for review: 3/4/2
Most-read January review: The Underground Girls of Kabul
Favorite January read: Station Eleven
What was the best book you read in January?

Love the photo of you with the Monsters Inc crew. Sounds like you had an amazing January -- Disney World and all!ReplyDelete
Lots of good books read, too. Well done!
We didn't do a lot of character interactions because the big boy didn't care one way or another. I happened to hop on that line with BG because we were waiting for everyone else to come off of a big kid ride and there were only 2 people in line!Delete
It was a good month, all in all. :)
Great month for you. Variety is the spice of life, they say, and you went from relaxing at Disney (well, I don't parents of small kids really relax at DisneyWorld, but I'm sure you had fun) to preparing for an historic snowstorm... and read good books! I read Station Eleven, 4/5 for me, very good but not my fave of the month or year. I'm interested in the Kabul book now. Enjoy your week!ReplyDelete
Absolutely! A Disney vacation with kids is a much different kind of trip than say, relaxing with your hubby in a cabin or on a beach somewhere.Delete
If you end up reading The Underground Girls of Kabul, I would love to know what you think of it!
I read a few good ones in January, but I think my favorite was The Martian. You have several on your list that I really want to get to this year, especially Station Eleven!ReplyDelete
I have seen so many raving reviews for The Martian, but the synopsis just isn't grabbing me. Maybe I just need to trust my fellow bloggers and make the leap! :)Delete
Sounds like a busy month, between the reading and the traveling! :DReplyDelete
I'd say that February should be quieter, but you just never know...Delete
Looks like you were able to squeeze in quite a few books (and good ones!), even with all the traveling and snow!ReplyDelete
I find I'm a pretty consistent reader, regardless of what is going on in life. Although I've probably jinxed myself by saying that...:)Delete
I've never been to Disney! Glad you and your family had fun, and glad you read so many fantastic books this month!ReplyDelete
It's a lot of fun! I went a few times as a kid, with some friends as a senior trip, and now it's time to bring the kiddos to the dark side (or the Disney side).Delete
Whew, nice month! I loved The Underground Girls and I have Station Eleven waiting (impatiently) on my Kindle ;)ReplyDelete
Yay for Underground Girls! It's so fascinating that I want everyone to read it. :)Delete
