It's the to-be-read shelf or pile...or shelves and piles. You know how it goes - you win some books and don't read them right away. Your mother/brother/husband/best friend gives you a book and you decide to save it for the right day. You love that magical library place and can't leave without a pile so high it blocks your view. The tbr shelf just sort of happens.
So I'm coming clean, kids. Here is my tbr shelf as of today.
It's manageable, I think. I hope. There are 30 books living on top of my bookshelf. Some of these books are coming up on the schedule, since I am one of those crazy people who plans out what they will be reading for the next few weeks. I'm reading A Room with a View (not pictured since it's next to my bed) right now and hope to finish it up tonight
So now that I have confessed my bookish indiscretions, it's your turn. Tell me about the unread books in your lives. How many are there? Where do you hide them? It's ok boys and girls, this is a safe place for your literary secrets.
OK my TBR secret is that the amount of books I own but have not read run into the hundreds....at least I will never be short of a book to read!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why sharing secrets is a great idea! I feel much better about my unread books. :)
DeleteLOL Like Sam - the books on my TBR shelves (both physical and virtual) are about 300+ right now and growing LOL

Well my physical TBR is not so bad...the library keeps me from bankrupting us at the bookstore. However, the list of books that I would like to read is more than 30 pages...lol.
DeleteMy TBR pile practically doubled over night this past week due to a publisher event I was at... thankfully some of the books have long release dates! :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful problem to have!
DeleteOh Lindsey- If you can manage to keep it at 30 good for you!
ReplyDeleteI thought I would share an early post from my blog showing you some, not all, of my shelves and boxes.

Since I have read mostly review books for three years now my stacks have grown. I stopped entering most contests a year ago as i wasn't getting to read the books. And then there are the free Kindle books... It's never ending. :-)
For some reason, I'm just seeing this now...sorry! Checking out your post made me feel much better...hehe. But I know who to look up if I find myself in need of a book or two!
Delete30? I have 130. And that's just the physical books, you understand. I don't count unread e-books as TBR, since they don't take up any space.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't count e-books either. I tend to be good about buying books, but my library fines are not too pretty.
