It's Monday and it finally feels like spring!

Hello, bookish people! How are you? How were your weekends? Ours was pretty quiet. The husband was gone most of the day on Saturday, so David and I partook in a few rounds of Trouble, some painting, and lots of stories. On Sunday we enjoyed the beautiful weather and spent some time outside before grilling hamburgers for dinner. Yum.

Book time!

  1. Was that recreational painting or decorative. :-)
You have an interesting list - most of which I am unfamiliar with. I'm pretty sure I picked up One Thousand Gifts but it may be a few months before I read it!
    Enjoy your week.

    1. The painting was recreational and thankfully all stayed on the paper, which is a major feat when discussing a four year old! I got One Thousand Gifts at a conference a few months ago - It wasn't my plan to read it quite yet, but I didn't get to the library this week.
      Have a wonderful week!

  3. Omg what do you think of Ann Voskamp and one thousand gifts? I thought it was like the book of awesome. At least the premise is the same. Everybody has something to be thankful for.

    1. I am loving it! I meant to read just a chapter a day and savor it, but it's not really happening that way!

    1. It does sound really good! I'm interested to see how I will respond to it as a mom. I can't imagine what I would do if someone else hit my kid (even if he was misbehaving)!

    1. I am really enjoying it so far. Ann Voskamp is a beautiful writer.
The Slap is about a party guest who slaps a child not belonging to him. The reader gets the story from several viewpoints. I am excited to read it!

  6. Pretty covers... all new titles to me. My favorite read this week was Sapphique by Catherine Fisher. Please come see what else I'm reading.

  7. You always have such a great selection of books! 'This must be the place' looks like a great read, something I would enjoy. 'The Slap' caught my interest last week and I almost bought it the other day but changed my mind, so I will be interested to hear what you think! Happy reading :)

  8. The Slap is polarising - you will either really like it or hate it. I liked it - reluctant to say love as it's not the sort of book you love. It was made into a seven part series in Australia that was brilliant - just one best drama series at our TV Awards - the Logies. Worth checking out after the book if you are able to get hold of it. You can check out my Monday here

  15. One Thousand Gifts looks gorgeous! I started to read the Slap but I found that I didn't like any of the characters, so I didn't finish it. I'm quite surprised that it has been so popular. I guess it's because it's controversial.
