24 Hour Readathon: It Begins!

The Readathon is here. Hooray!

I'm starting off with Grady Hendrix's Horrorstor because I don't want to be reading anything scary when it gets dark! I know, I'm a big wimp.

Here is the opening meme from the wonderful people who run the readathon!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

Hello from New Jersey, USA! It's a bit cloudy here but I promise it looks nothing like the factories you see flying into the airport. Also, we are nothing like those miscreants from New York that you see on that "Jersey Shore" show.

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

Persepolis! I'm finally joining in the comic/graphic novel love and I am so excited.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Probably the banana and pumpkin oatmeal that is happily cooking in my oven, although the peanut butter cookies coming up later are no slouches either.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

When I was in elementary school, I got in trouble for hiding a chapter book inside of our easy readers.

I used to walk down the street to the library by myself. I didn't know that my mom called the librarian and announced my trip, so she could let Mom know if I didn't make it in a timely manner.

I will probably be joined at some point today by the most wonderful little readers, aged 6 and 1 respectively.

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

I decided not to cheer this year because my hubby will be home this year (for the first time, I think) and I want to just focus on lots of reading!

Those are all the starting questions, my friends. Have an amazing time and I will check in with you soon!

  2. I'm really thinking about how you could possibly get in trouble for reading a chapter book inside your easy reader! I just want to rap that teacher's knuckles. Oh my!

Hope you have a great time at readathon!

  4. Peanut butter cookies sound like the perfect snack for a read-a-thon. Peanut butter has protein - that means it's healthy, right? ;) Enjoy your reading!
