September Wrap-Up

So September is over.

That went quickly. I guess it's time to settle in and enjoy fall! I see lots of apple cider and crockpot dinners in our future.

So how was reading in September? It was fine. I'm reading at a normal pace but find myself having trouble with the review writing sometimes. Apparently it is an affliction that is striking many book bloggers lately. At least I'm in good company!

Books reviewed in September: 9
Pages read: 3,720
Fiction/non-fiction: 8/1
Female authors/male authors: 8/1
My books/library books/books for review: 2/3/4
Most-read September review: Someone Else's Love Story
Favorite September read: Tigerman

How was your September reading? What was your favorite book?

  1. My September started out slow, but now I'm keeping a fairly good pace with fall/Halloween-ish books. I've read a lot of great ones - my favorite so far is probably The Supernatural Enhancements.

    1. There are some books that just seem perfect for a certain season, aren't there? I've heard great things about The Supernatural Enhancements so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  2. Wait! Are we supposed to actually write reviews?! LOL, I'm in big trouble ;) Seriously though I've reviewed maybe a quarter of what I used to. Ah well, at least we're not alone. I know many bloggers who are in the same boat.

    Have a great October!

    1. Nah, I think it's more like a suggestion. :)

It seems like book bloggers are just feeling the repetition of writing reviews. There are only so many ways we can say "This is a great book!" or "This book is terrible."

I hope your October is awesome!

  3. I am always behind in my reviewing! I envy those bloggers who can schedule them days or weeks in advance! At the core of the blogger though is the book reader, and that is what we should do first and foremost. I would rather slow down on my reviewing than on my reading; this is a purely selfish viewpoint, but true for me. I do make sure I keep in touch with my blogger friends constantly during the week with comments, memes, and discussions. Thanks for your post.

    1. That's a great point Rita. I think sometimes we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to write a perfect review instead of realizing that we are just letting our friends know which books are great, with a few sentences or several pages or some fun gifs.

  4. Don't worry, I've been slacking hard on writing reviews. Too distracted or lazy. Or I try and write something but give up because I am dissatisfied with it in some way.

Seems you had a fairly productive September with your reading, good stuff. Looking forward to see what you will be reading for October.

  5. Your September was better than mine by a few books! But I'm in the middle of about six really good ones right now, so my October will be looking better.

  6. Yes, you are in good company! I haven't been reading as much lately, but I've definitely been reading more books than my blog reflects at the moment.

    1. I try to hold off starting a new book until I've written some reviews, but it doesn't work very well!
