It's Monday and Halloween is coming!

It's time to get ready for Halloween! We picked up costumes for the kids. So now we have to pick up some candy and prepare for a fun weekend. David has a parade at school on Halloween and then we will be trick or treating that night. There is one street in our town that goes all out with opulently decorated houses, complete with spider webs and strobe lights. People come from all over the county to trick or treat there.

Are you dressing up for Halloween? Do you have any great plans?

  3. New titles for me here, so thanks for that! I'm glad your kids are getting ready for Halloween and you have a fun area in town to explore. I miss not having my little grandkids to take trick or treating anymore--they live cross country. But I know they'll have fun and can't wait to see their pics in their costumes. One of my grandkids wants to be a tardis, lol, from Dr. Who :)

    1. I think my mom is going to be able to come and spend Halloween with the kids, but we will be taking lots of pictures for the other side of the family!

I love the Tardis idea! We had thrown around the idea of going as Doctor Who characters, but David had other plans!

  4. I am dressing up as The Joker, from Batman. A gender-swapped version, of course, and I have a guy friend dressing up as Harley Quinn. So fun!!

  5. We're looking forward to the big day too, and it took us forever this year to pick out costumes! But we're almost ready- just need to buy copious amounts of candy now. :)

  7. Both your current read, and your upcoming one, sound interesting - I look forward to hearing your thoughts on those.

What are your little ones dressing up as for Halloween? We aren't trick or treating, I don't know, it's just not our thing. I hope you and your family enjoy the evening!

    1. Thanks Jade!

David is going to be the Green Ninja from Lego Ninjago and Becca Grace is going as Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I picked her costume in part because we are going to Disney at the beginning of 2015 and I thought it would be cute for her to meet Belle while wearing her costume!

    2. Such a sweet idea! It may be a little premature, but I also hope you and the family enjoy Disney next year.

  8. That street sounds like a lot of fun! My kids are so excited about Halloween. We had a "character parade" at their school last week instead of a Halloween celebration. It went well, after a bit of drama over the costumes. In the end, one of my girls was a crayon from The Day The Crayons Quit, while the other was a cheetah (let's just say it was from Lots of Spots; I had trouble finding an appropriate book in the short time I had!). My youngest one will be a purple crayon on the 31st.

  9. My 3.5 year old finally decided that he will go trick or treating this year (we were at the airport last Halloween, waiting for our flight back to Singapore). Fittingly, he's got a pilot costume. So to find out that it's likely to rain the whole day on Friday, we were disappointed!! We might go to a mall's Halloween event if it really is raining…!

    1. Oh my goodness, that sounds like a really cute costume!

It's supposed to be lame weather here too. Hopefully we will get some trick or treating in before it gets gross.
