It's been busy around here (which is no surprise to any of you who have been here more than once). The kids had Vacation Bible School a few days this week. Husband and I went out for dinner on Friday night to the Melting Pot to celebrate being happy, old married people for nine years.
On Saturday, the whole family pitched in at a work day at the church. There was a lot of pulling ancient furniture and unused paint out of the basement. BG looked like a coal miner by the end of the morning and D may have had a slight mishap with a hammer and his head, but everyone made it home into the bathtub more or less in one piece.

Next up on Mount TBR is World of Trouble, the final book in the Last Policeman series. Then I'll be reading The Book of Esther.

What are you reading this week?

Happy anniversary, have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Maree!
DeleteHappy Anniversary! My husband and I will be celebrating our 9th anniversary as well soon!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and your husband!! Are you planning something fun to celebrate?
DeleteI just picked up The Last Policeman and it looks really good. I think The Book of Esther looks good, too. Happy Anniversary and Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed the series quite a bit. Winters manages to surprise me, which is nice when you read a lot of books!
DeleteHappy anniversary and congratulations! I hope you enjoy your books this week.
ReplyDeleteHere's my #IMWAYR
Thanks Di! I hope you have some great books this week too.
DeleteHappy anniversary! It seems like lots of current books are intense, aren't they?

Thanks Deb!
DeleteIt does seem like there are a lot of intense books, but I think that's what I usually like to read too.
Happy anniversary! I read the first last policeman book but havCome see my week here. Happy reading!en't had a chance to continue the series.
ReplyDeleteI had the first two on my shelves, but I borrowed the last one from the library. I will probably have to make a complete set. It would be too sad to have the first two without the last book, right? :)
DeleteHappy anniversary! Enjoy your books....I haven't read any of these, but now I'm curious.
ReplyDeleteHere are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Thanks Laurel!
DeleteHappy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHappy anniversary! Hope you will be very happy for 9x9 years to come! Imagine me gone seems like a great read and I've seen The book of Esther around. Would love to read that. Hope you will have great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Mareli!
DeleteImagine Me Gone was an interesting read. Not all of it worked for me, but it definitely made me think about mental illness and its effects.
I read a review of Imagine Me Gone recently - it sounds really good! You're reading a lot for a busy summer - good for you!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books this week -
Sue
2016 Big Book Summer Challenge
Thanks Sue! I find I pretty consistently read two books a week, regardless of what else is going on.
DeleteHappy Anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteBoth Marrow Island and Why Church Matters sound really good! I am a recent churchgoer, for the first time since I was a kid. It took me a while to find a church I felt comfortable in, and I think I have found the right fit. When I don't get the chance to go, I do miss it, and my week feels - not right. I will have to check them both out!
I'm so glad you found a good church! Harris makes some really great points in Why Church Matters and it's a fast read, too.
