This week I read Amy Snow, which was a bit long but still a good read. Then I switched up my intended schedule and read Homegoing, since it needs to go back to the library and then go home with some other lucky reader.

Next I'm planning to read Madeleine L'Engle's Certain Women (for real this time) and then I'm going to read Smoke, which is about an alternate version of England where smoke is emitted from people who do or think evil.

What are your Labor Day plans? What are you reading this week?

Sounds like a great day! Labor Day is going to be relaxed around here too, hopefully just reading and hanging out. Hope you have a great one.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Greg! I hope you had a great and relaxing day. :)
DeleteSounds like a great long weekend, food and family time - a great combination. Best wishes to your child starting third grade. I am counting down to our own long weekend over here in about 3 weeks time plus school holidays.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you over Amy Snow. I enjoyed it but it took me longer to read than I usually do.
Smoke looks interesting. Have a lovely reading week!

Thanks Amanda. I hope the next couple of weeks go quickly for you!
DeleteI like your plans for the day. It's raining here right now. I also like your assortment of books. Come see what I accomplished last week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. I hope the weather cleared up by you!
DeleteI've never heard of Amy Snow before, but how gorgeous is that cover? That alone makes me want to pick it up!
ReplyDeleteNo big plans here besides not working, which is always wonderful!
It is decidedly a beautiful cover. It makes you want to go wherever she is headed!
DeleteSounds like you have great plans for your long weekend - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite intrigued by Smoke; look forward to your thoughts on that one. Happy reading!
It seems like a really interesting premise, so we'll see how it goes. Happy reading to you too, Jade!
DeleteYay, Homegoing - loved that book! And Smoke just sounds so fascinating, even though it's not my usual thing.
ReplyDeleteHomegoing was great. I'm so interested to see what she does next.
DeleteSounds like you have a lovely, relaxing Labor Day planned! It sounds like you enjoyed "Homegoing" -- yay! :) I'll be interested to see your thoughts on "Smoke."
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy Homegoing. I'm trying to put together some semblance of a review tonight!
DeleteAre you hoping to read either of those books, Lindsay?
It sounds like a really great Labor Day. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer! I hope you had a great long weekend.
DeleteOh, Homegoing!! I read the first chapter/story before the library ebook disappeared from my kindle - it was excellent! Now I need to get back on the hold list.
ReplyDeleteThere was a fairly long hold list at my library too. It's worth the wait, I promise!
DeleteSmoke sounds interesting, and the cover is so pretty! Blessings on the new school year! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Julie!! How is this week for you, being home with your little one instead of going back to teach?
DeleteThe first day of school was really weird. But I've decided to volunteer in the school library on Wednesdays, so that'll keep me around the kids - and give me some other interaction besides my little guy! :)
DeleteI enjoyed Amy Snow too. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week too, Yvonne!
