What are you reading this week?
Looks like some good reads and ya about the six year old! :) It happens.... mine grew up. LOL
ReplyDeleteHow do we know it is going to happen, but we are still so surprised when it does?!?
DeleteThey grow up fast, it's crazy how quickly it goes. My reading has slowed down with the holiday season, so much going on, but I'm still sneaking pages in when I can and doing about a book a week, more or less.
ReplyDeleteI think that a book a week with everything going on during the holidays is fantastic! :)
DeleteI dont know how my son turned 23! it happens all the time.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy, isn't it?
DeletePalisades Park looks intriguing. I love the cover. Have fun reading!
ReplyDeleteTake a look at what I'm reading this week.
I had to pick up a book about New Jersey since I live here! :)
DeleteHappy Birthday for the big boy!
ReplyDeletePalisades Park looks like a great read. Had to add it to my TBR
Thank you Ciska!
DeleteI'm about 20 pages into Palisades Park. I hope we both love it!
My oldest is a December baby....and now he's 34 years old...or will be.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your boy. My grandson is also seeming to need new pants every month - it's amazing the way he's growing. He's five years old, and stands just to my armpits (I'm five foot 2)
Happy Reading and Holidays
My week of reading
I'm about the same height and I think my days of lifting up the little guy are just about done!
DeleteHave a wonderful week. :)
OMG! lol, be very careful! These boys seem to be growing tree limbs instead of bones in there bodies. I swear, my grandson (and his daddy before him) had the hardest, heaviest bones ever! :)
DeleteHaha! Boys are strange things. They eat so much but stay so skinny!
DeleteI really enjoyed Palisades Park. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas Town sounds good! I am really into reading holiday books right now.
I'm glad to hear it!
DeleteI didn't love The Christmas Town. Which holiday reads have you been enjoying?
Happy birthday to your growing boy!!! And 110 books? WOW!!! I'm over 70 and was tickled about that. I'd keel over at 110. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Andi! I started using Goodreads last year with no idea of how many books I usually read in a year. When I hit slightly over 100 last year, I thought I could do 110 in 2013. :)
DeleteI'll be looking for your review of the Ann Patchett book. I like her writing style. This one is nonfiction, is that correct?
ReplyDeleteThank you Heidi! It should be up on Thursday. It is a collection of articles and other non-fiction writing that Patchett has done.
DeleteAll of your books look good and mt tbr worthy.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on your six year old!
Thanks so much! I'm always happy to add to the tbr lists. :)
DeleteGreat mix of books. I have a daughter who went 6 this year, I was prepared for baby to 5 but this is new territory now, lol. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteI know it's only a year of difference, but six seems like such a big kid!
DeleteHappy birthday to your son, I bet it feels like the time has just flown by!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam. It really does feel like he was just a baby!
DeleteHappy birthday to your son, my youngest is turning 8 in 2 weeks! I have met my goal and am still going, not sure what number I will end up with
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your reading selections for the week.
Have a cheery week!

How exciting! I will look forward to seeing how many books you end up with this year!
DeleteENJOY your week of reading!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your son. They do grow up fast. :)

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
Thank you Elizabeth. :)
DeleteHappy birthday to your son and happy holidays! Congrats on 110 books. I don't have a reading goal, just challenges. I never worry about not reading enough! I'll be interested to hear how Palisades Park was. I read Molokai, and while I loved learning about Molokai's history, the book went on a little too long for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying it so far. I think I'm a bout a quarter of the way through. This one is a big book too - I think it's about 450 pages!
DeleteMy little one is only a month old and he is growing so fast! I can't imagine years yet though!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on nearly meeting your reading goal!
:-)
Bits & Bobs
We have a six year old boy and a seven month old girl and it's so interesting to see the differences between the baby and the big kid.
DeleteCongrats on getting through that first month - it can be tough!
Thank you Danielle. I seem to do a pretty good job of getting through two books a week, barring my picking up any Charles Dickens novels! :)
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to read Palisades Park but somehow I haven't done it yet. After all, I am also a Jersey girl. I even went to Palisades Park when I was very young, not long before it closed.
ReplyDeleteWell, this Jersey girl really enjoyed it. I didn't get the chance to visit Palisades Park, but it definitely felt authentic to my experiences of the boardwalk and Jersey shore.
DeleteWonderful to know that you had a great birthday celebration last weekend, Lindsey! Children grow so fast, don't they :)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to reading your thoughts on Ann Patchett's book. The title is very intriguing. Happy reading this week!
Congratulations on hitting a century of books this year :) I am sure you will get to 110 books before the end of the year. I had planned to read 70 books this year. I have read 59. Need to do a readathon and get there before the end of this month ;)
DeleteThanks Vishy! It's hard to believe that there have been so many books this year already. Good luck with reading 70 books - you can do it!
DeleteBookwise, we are comming at the usual pace of two books a week.
