It's Monday and I am a happy theatre girl!

Did anyone else watch the Tony Awards this weekend? This theatre major had a lot of fun and my dear husband watched with me because he is a charming and wonderful guy.

It was probably a good thing we had something to watch on TV because we were about ready to become one with the sofa on Sunday night. We successfully started an evening worship service tonight at our church. It has been a lot of work and a lot of love and we are so happy it went well...and awfully tired too.

    1. Uh oh...I have to confess that, for some reason, I thought it was one of the shorter classics. Whoops.

I think I'm going to join a readalong and maybe that will make it a bit more manageable!

    2. It should. And I should confess I tried to read it at 23 years old. I wasn't ready for it then. I really should give it another try.

  3. Interesting variety of books. I'm planning to spend lots of time "one with the sofa" too. My summer vacation has started. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  4. I haven't watched the Tony awards in ages, but sounds like fun. The Rise and Fall of great Powers sounds good, it wasn't what I expected when I clicked the link but the description sounds really interesting.

    1. I wasn't as impressed this year, but it's a lot of fun to watch and see the musical numbers.

I'm excited to read The Rise and Fall of Great Powers. I adored Rachman's debut.

  5. Interested in what you thought of the Oyeyemi book! I've been meaning to get to that for quite a while now. I saw some of the Tonys with my Broadway-obsessed teen! Now all I'm hearing is which shows she hopes we can see this summer. :)

    1. It was ok, but I was rather thrown off by the ending. I still love her novel Mr. Fox best, I think.

It's a good discussion to have! Which shows does she want to see?

  7. REALLY interested in your thoughts on Boy, Snow, Bird. I had some issues with it, but those were mostly because it didn't pan out the way I expected.

    1. The style is really interesting, but the thing that happened at the end was very jarring and not in a good way.

  8. Congrats on starting an evening service! I know it's a lot of work, but people will really appreciate it. And good for you for tackling Moby Dick. It seems like one of those books that everyone has heard of, but few have read. Soon you will be one of the knowledgeable few!

    1. Thanks Julie! I certainly hope so. :)

It's one of those books that people seem to sort of dread reading. It is one giant book!

  10. That last book about the art of nurturing boys caught my eye because I have a 10 year-old boy. So different from my girl...thanks for stopping by my Monday post!

    1. Yes! They are very different creatures. I thought I would have the kid thing under control because I am the oldest of four kids. But I am the oldest of four girls...Totally different!
