It's Monday and life is rolling right along....

Hi there ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing?

This summer thing is finally starting to feel natural. I don't have to remind myself anymore that David doesn't have to catch the bus. We have settled into a routine of sorts - Tuesday is library and storytime day, Wednesday is movie day, and on Thursday we try to plan something special, like a trip to the playground or a friend's house. I have a big stack of books to read with David this summer. We are currently reading The Tale of DespereauxWhile we don't have any major plans for summer, I am looking forward to many good days with my favorite little guy and little girl.

    1. I was interested in (and apprehensive about) Now I See You because I have been wearing glasses for most of my life. The idea of losing your sight hits close to home, although I know my giant prescription doesn't equal the things that the author went through!

  2. Love your summer routine! You have an interesting assortment of books on your stack too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  3. I would like to read Now I See You. I read the blurb and it caught my interest. I had early onset cataracts and had surgery in both eyes a few years ago (apparently it can be hereditary and I had 2 relatives who went through the same thing at a younger age). When the surgery healed, I was amazed at how clear everything was! I am so grateful for the eye doctor who picked up on this and didn't just keep giving me stronger bifocals.
Wondering about your opinion on Frog Music. Not sure if I would like it, so I am seeking advice from bloggers.
Have a great week. Enjoy the summer with your little guy.

    1. Isn't it wonderful to have a great eye doctor? Thank goodness your doctor caught the cataracts. It hit a little close to home as I read through my giant glasses about her vision fading...

I liked Frog Music quite a bit, but it is a very hard read. If you don't do well with violence against women and children, it is probably not a good choice for you.

  4. I raised two boys and I think Wild Things would have helped me a lot. Poor boys. No men to guide them much in this world. And, when they are small, it is us women who make all the rules. Few of them are very boy friendly.

    1. It was a great read. It really helped me to better understand the strange mind of boys. :)

    1. I liked it, but there is a lot that is difficult to stomach. Donoghue is such a fantastic writer!

    1. If only the covers were reliable and let us know which were good books and which ones were duds! Don't worry - this one was pretty good. :)
