It's Monday and we're not sick anymore (I hope)

Hey ladies and gents! How are you doing?

It's been a rough few days around here. The week was going as might be expected until Friday. That afternoon, I cut my work day short because a certain toddler got a nasty stomach bug and fever. I don't think anyone got much sleep that night. Saturday was mostly spent with a sleepy little girl on my chest. By Sunday morning, everyone seemed ok so we went to church and then helped my dad pack up some books since the seminary he teaches at is moving to a new campus.

This week, I read The Cuckoo's Calling, Dinner: A Love Story, and Sunday's On The Phone To Monday. Up next on my toppling stack of books are The Rose and the Dagger and a book from my shelves that I haven't picked yet!

What are you reading this week?

  1. Oh dear never much fun or sleep when someone is ill, especially a little one. Hope no one else caught the bug. Always good to know you can pluck something from your shelf to read!

    1. It's an interesting read! It's part cookbook, part memoir, and part thought on what it means to be a working or stay-at-home mom.

  4. Oh sorry she's sick. I have the Cuckoo's Calling on my bookshelf. I keep wanting to read it, but it sits there looking at me. HaHa! The life of a book lover with lots of books.

    1. They do look at you, don't they? I borrowed that book from a friend, but I have several books that look and me and judge me for not reading them yet!!

    1. The covers are really beautiful. I think they do a great job of communicating the magic and beauty of the story.

  10. Ugh! So sorry to hear about the stomach bug! That has been spreading through my daughter's school like wildfire! Last Friday (which was their field day) a fourth of her class was out with it. SO FAR (knock on wood) we've avoided it....

  12. Illness really sucks... Especially when it just suddenly throws itself around like that. Good to hear all is well now.

I look forward to your thoughts on The Cuckoo's Calling. I hope you enjoy all your upcoming reads.

    1. Agreed! She seemed a little sleepy that morning, but I had no idea she was sick!

Thanks Jade. I really enjoyed it. Maybe I will start incorporating more mysteries in my reading...

  13. So glad your daughter is feeling better now. It's so hard when they're sick!

Hope you enjoyed Cuckoo's Calling. I liked it but don't think I ever got around to writing a review! I hope you've had a great week!

    1. I'm not sure whether I will write a review or not. I find that it's tough for me to write reviews for books in a series, especially if I plan to read more of them!
