It's Monday and it's almost Easter!

So this week didn't go quite the way I had hoped. After sick kids last weekend, it was of course time for hubby and me to have our turns. But after a rough few days, things seem to be mostly back on track. It's a good impetus to start some serious spring cleaning, anyhow!

This will be an interesting week for us. My husband is a pastor, which means Holy Week is both crazier and quieter. Our plans for this week include getting Easter outfits for the kids, rehearsal for me for the Easter music, and a church dinner on Maundy Thursday. And of course, reading. We always find time for reading in this house.

  1. I just finished The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson and liked it! Can't wait to hear what you think of Dead Wake. Also The Love Song of Miss Queenie sounds great!

    1. Yay! Will you be reviewing it??

I'm excited to read The Love Song...but I'm a bit nervous too. It's been a few years since I read the first book!

  5. My church doesn't really do anything leading up to Easter, but we pull out all the stops for Easter day itself. Should be a great service!

Happy reading this week, and I'm glad everyone is feeling better. Being sick is the worst.

  6. I really like the writing style of Devil in the White City by Erik Larson but I found it difficult to read in English. Will try to get my hands on Dutch versions of his books. Curious to see what you will think of The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy. I have heard various opinions about that one. Have a great week!

    1. That's interesting. I've never learned enough of another language to read in it, but I imagine there are a lot of problems in translation!

I am excited and nervous about Miss Queenie, because I love the author but it's been a long time since I read the other book!

  7. My husband sings at the church he attends and there have been Thurs., Fri., and Sat. services at night, plus tomorrow morning! I listened to The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry on audio not too long ago, so I might listen to The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy too.
