It's Monday and it's time for crazy November!

Hey there, bookish people. How are you doing?

I'm taking things easy this Monday morning. After a very busy Sunday and some serious failure to adjust to the time change, I may or may not have been in bed at 9:30 last night. Today is going to be all about getting things in order for the week. I need to make a grocery list, go to the store, and swing by the library too. D has a really funky schedule in November, with a ton of half days and days off, so I'm trying to get our calendar in order and schedule some checkups for the kids on those days.

Moving along to the books! I finished The Gift of Failure, St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves, and We Never Asked for Wings.

On the blog this past week, I reviewed The Heart Goes LastAll We Have Is Now, and A Window Opens.

Now I'm reading about some spies with Sweet Tooth and The Crescent Spy. I'm also scheming about which books I hope to read for Nonfiction November.

What are you reading this week?

  1. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Sweet Tooth...I read it a few years back and feel like I missed something.

    1. I just finished it and thought it was ok. I don't know if the problem is that I'm comparing it to Atonement, since it's the only other book of his I've read!

  3. I always adjust poorly to the time change too- fall back is not TOO bad but in the spring when we lose that hour- ugh. You wouldn't think one hour would make that much of a difference, but it does for me! LOL.

    Hope your week is good.

    1. I don't remember it being this tough to readjust in the past. It might be compacted by this cold I think I'm fighting. Sigh...

I hope your week is going well too, Greg!

  4. Me, too, Lindsey! Exhausted from the weekend! And November will be really busy - I also have to make a bunch of phone calls tomorrow to get doctor's appts scheduled.

Can you believe I have never read an Ian McEwan book? I've heard such good things about them - I really need to get to that.

Enjoy your books this week - and good luck getting organized!

    1. I can't give you too much direction - this is only my second McEwan book. I really liked Atonement though!

      Have a great week, Sue!

  5. It's funny isn't it, you'd think the fall back time would give you more time etc, but I find too it plays a little havoc.
I am about to read my first Diffenbaugh book and I have We Never Asked For Wings on my bookshelf to read, after all the rave reviews it got.

    1. So far, Diffenbaugh has a weird effect on me when I read her books. She manages to keep me invested in really frustrating characters. I will be interested to see what you think of The Language of Flowers!

    1. I'm glad We Never Asked For Wings was great. I imagine it's tough to write that second book, especially after the first is so popular!

I hope you are having a good reading week.
