April Wrap-Up and What I'm Into

Bye, April. See you next year!

April was busy and exhausting. I think we are in one of those moments in time where parenting is a big undertaking. I know that these phases are temporary but I find myself thankful for bedtime these days (for them and for me). Tired seems to be a recurring feeling, so I'm trying to work on getting a good night's sleep and take care of myself.

Apparently, I have really done a terrible job of taking any pictures at all during April. I will have to work on that!

May promises to be a busy month, with birthdays for the husband and the little girl as well as several other family members. My sister and best friend will both be visiting from the West Coast. I'm ready to celebrate with of my favorite people!

What I Read/Reviewed:
This month, I reviewed ten books on my blog. Two were nonfiction and eight were novels. I read four library books, two books for review, and four from my own shelves.

The Golem and the Jinni    Maisie Dobbs    Countdown City
Drama High     The Snow Child      Why We Came to the City
The Bluest Eye    The Edge of Lost     Mr. Splitfoot    Night Driving

My favorite reads from April were Mr. Splitfoot and The Golem and the Jinni, with honorable mentions to Night Driving and Why We Came to the City

Favorite posts:
I enjoyed articulating just what makes a book get that elusive five star rating from me. I also had a fun 24 Hour Readathon, which you can read all about here.

What I've Been Watching:
Same round-up as last month. I'm still re-watching my beloved Gilmore Girls and The West Wing on occasion. Husband and I probably need to decide what we will watch this summer, when most shows go on hiatus. Any suggestions?

What I've Been Cooking/Baking:
Chicken Milano
So. very. delicious

Double Chocolate Chip cookies from The Everything Kids' Cookbook
David and I made these together. We enjoyed most of them, but made sure to send some to his teacher too!

  1. It sounds like you had a very active (and exhausting) April! I should re-watch Gilmore Girls. I love that show.

    1. Me too! It's comforting to watch episodes again after a long day.

  2. Oh, I'm there with you on parenting being quite the undertaking right now - it's exhausting!! We've dropped all naps, hit the terrible twos, had a bout of fussy eating - it's all going on over here!! As you say, it is just a phase, and we get truck on through it!

It looks like you had quite a successful reading month. I hope that continues in to May :-)
