It's Monday, and I made a pie!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I have to admit that I did not do a ton of reading this past week. However, I am proud to announce that I made my first pie from scratch this weekend (made the dough and everything!). My husband's family came over on Sunday afternoon and I decided to be a bit of a risk taker. Without tasting it, I served up that apple pie to the family. Thankfully, it was yummy (although I could probably work on the presentation next time). What do you think? Are any of you amazing bakers? What kind of pie should I try to tackle next?

Anyway, about the books...

This past week, I read:

The Submission
By Amy Waldman

Here is what I posted this past week:
It's Monday
Wednesdays with David: Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel
Reviews of The Tiger's Wife, A Good Hard Look, and The Actor and the Housewife

This week, I will be listening to this audiobook:

Exit the Actress
By Priya Parmar

This week, I will be reading:

The Bone Garden
By Tess Gerritsen

Salvage the Bones
By Jesmyn Ward

What are you reading this week? Let me know in the comments. Make sure to come back later this week for reviews of Far to Go by Alison Pick and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley!

  1. Pies are hard. Congrats on the success! For a while my dad and I would pick apples each weekend and make a pie. They never turned out, but were still fun to eat. I need to go pick apples.

I love the cover on Exit the Actress. Looking forward to seeing how you like it.

  2. Congrats on the pie. I read my first TessG this year and can't wait to catch up with this series.

  3. Great job on the pie...that is one thing I have not yet attempted - making a pie from scratch!

I love the Rizzoli and Isles tv series and want to start reading the series.

Stop by my It's Monday post if you get a chance.

  4. I was having lots of trouble settling into a book, but now I am reading Jasper Fforde's, The Big over Easy and I am really getting into it.
